Soldout Podcast

With the release of their North American debut Cuts, Soldout stand poised to grab the vacant title of 2009’s breakout dance music act. Based out of Brussels, Belgium, the young couple of Charlotte Maison and David Baboulis decided to form a band, and when they fed Charlotte’s classical piano training and pop melodies through David’s drum machines and synthesizers, they created the sweat-soaked, sexed-up rush of Soldout. When Soldout began crafting Cuts, they recruited producer Jason Boshoff (Basement Jaxx) and channeled the seedy European club scenes they witnessed while touring behind their early material into an uncompromising album that undulates with seductive menace. After winning massive support from press and radio and leaving a trail of sweaty converts in their wake on several European tours, they broke into the U.S. at CMJ and began sowing their fan base in North America. With a North American tour forthcoming in 2009, you can expect Soldout at a loft party or frenzied DJ set near you, where they’ll storm the speakers before they slip like a shadow into your permanent subconscious.
